Question #2:

Can a store search my bag on exit?

i am a student in year 11 and i often catch a train or bus to a shopping center. i of course carry my books and other stuff such as an out of school uniform jumper in case its cold and a portable hard drive etc. nothing offensive in any way, shape or form.
Some of the stores have me unzip my bags front and back compartments and move my jumper and or school books so they can see in. This search it takes me about 2-3minutes to do so and am usually with other people who have to do the same and it can add up in time, a couple times caused us to miss our train.
Am I aloud to refuse them to look in my bag and just walk out?
of course i go to the shopping center straight after school and do not have nearly enough time to go home and back so theres no way for me to leave my bag anywhere.

Question #5:

Wooden Saddle Rack for Horse Shows?

Trying to build a portable wall hanging wooden saddle rack for horse shows (english hunter/jumper saddle) Does anyone know the size that the rack should be? Or if you have any building plans? Specially the width where the saddle would hang.

Please & thank you!
I'm not going to buy one. Just for the record. I'v looked into it, and the one that would match my trunk and such is $90. Do any of you have that much to spend? I'm going to build one. If you can't help me, please don't comment.

Question #6:

i purchased a smart car 2 months ago and after that i left for a long trip. .1 and a half months. When i got b?

i purchased a smart car 2 months ago and after that i left for a long trip. .1 and a half months. When i got back the car can't start. How can i do this with a portable jumper? how do you open the hood? Did i screw up the car for not using it for 1 month and a half? Thank you for your help!

Question #7:

External Hard Drive is not showing a drive letter in My Computer?

I have a 3.5 Western Digital bare hard drive, 40g. Bought an enclosure, works fine until I decide to covert it to fat32 to use it as an extra portable hard drive. Now it's unrecognizable by my XP laptop. It shows on the task bar and you can safely remove it but it doesn't show in My Computer and doesn't represent a Letter drive. Went to Manage - Disk Management but still not showing.

The drive itself doesn't have a funny sound, I think it works fine, maybe I just something wrong while converting it to fat32. By the way, the jumper is on the CS2(Cable Select) when it was working before conversion, now I put the jumper to Slave because I've watch some video on youtube that it should be Slave when you convert into a external hard drive but still doesn't work.

Can please somebody help me. I can buy much better than this one because I already have 1tb for my PS3 which I used the same software(fat32format) but I'm just the kind of person who want to work on something that I know it's fixable.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Question #8:

I stored my motorcycle away all winter season, and now the engine wont start.?

I had it jumped twice, the first time I jumped it, I was able to ride around, and then I parked it. The next day I could tell that the battery didn't keep the charge. I charged it again later with a portable jumper, was able to ride it around, then parked it again. Now today, it just rirrs a bit when I turn it on, but I cant get the engine started. It is a brand new motorcycle. A kawasaki vulcan 2010. Do you think I just need to charge it for a bit longer, or do you think its a faulty battery?

Question #9:

What types of things are you registered for?!?

Hello!! First time mom to be here, and I just need some help on registering for important items.

I'm going to register at Target and Babies R US, and I am comparing prices on EVERYTHING, if Target carries it, they seem to be cheaper on 90% of it.

Anyways, I was just wondering what types of things are you going to register or did register for??

Did you register for any clothes or toys? I registered for a few, newborn age appropriate up to a year old toys and clothes, like no more than maybe 3-5 cute outfits at each place, and no more than 5-10 toys, at each place. I was wondering if people think adding clothes and toys are rude, since most people like to just pick stuff out instead of being told what to buy? I only registered for a few of my favorite ones and have no problem taking them off and buying them myself if it would offend people.

Also, I use mainly organic foods and products in my day to day life. I have also registered for a few organic towels, shampoo, blankets, ect. Will people find this annoying since they are pricey? Again, I have no issue with removing them and using what people buy me and then buying the ones I prefer once I need more.

I already have a crib and dresser and am borrowing a bassinet. I will be ordering my own baby bedding and accessories from somewhere I'm not registered at.

Some of my items on my lists include:

Medela Breast Pump
Boppy and Organic Cover
Puj Baby Tub
Thermometers, Alarm/Timers
Portable Swing
Bumper Jumper
Head Support for car seat
Head Support for crib
Dressing Table
Toy Chest
Bicycle Trailer
Jogging Stroller & compatible infant Car Seat
Nasal Aspirator
Twist and Fold Activity Gym
Plug Covers
Nuks
Grooming Kit
Baby q-tips
Belly Bandit (for me)

What else do I need or what all did you register for?? Thank you so much for your time and help!!!!!

Question #11:

Question about stolen check?

Here i was, dozing through classes today, hoping to go home asap. But when i got to my car, I found that my car batteries were out and that my wallet was missing. This was a big deal coz i needed the wallet in order to borrow a portable jumper from the campus police. I didn't suspect anyone of stealing from my car at this time. However, after searching the car a for little bit longer, I found that my receipt from depositing $2300 for financial aid was not at the place that I left it (glove compartment). I started to fear that could have been robbed (first time) so i called the bank, and cancelled the debit card and put a fraud alert on my Social. Now, after all these steps that i've taken, I'm not sure if the robber(if there is one) has taken a page from my checkbook. I don't recall writing that many checks (maybe 3-5 times in total) but it was at 133(wtf). What should I do?
The bank branch closes at 5 pm, and the customer closes 8pm eastern so they're alrdy closed..
*customer service

Question #12:

Did my car battery finally die?

First off, I'm a very forgetful person. I tend to leave the headlights on when I'm in a hurry, so much so, that I bought a portable jumper and use it at least once a month (sometimes twice in the same day). That said, once I get my car running, I drive it for about 20 min and then it's good until the next time I leave something on. This is an 95 Honda Civic and I bought the portable jumper about 2 years ago.

I noticed late last night that I had the inside light on, probably for about 4-5 hours before I turned it off. In the morning it started fine but at the gym I had left the headlights on so it obviously didn't start again (there for 1.5hrs). I used my jumper and the car car started fine. It ran perfectly for the 25 min it took me to get home. I ate, showered, and tried to leave but my car wouldn't start again! Worse, when I tried to jump it, it still wouldn't start, and it didn't even make the beeping sound when the key is in the ignition.

Could that have been the last straw for my car battery? Was it so dead that not even the charger to make it thru to the car to turn on the lights? I want to take it to Autozone to get it checked out (and possibly buy a new battery) but I have to wait until my boyfriend gets out of work (in 5 hours).

And if for some strange reason it's not the battery, what else could it be?
When I realized I had left the light on inside the car, I pluged in the jumper at home. It was fully charged (spent the last 8 hrs plugged in) before I used it in the morning.
I used to use sticky notes, but they always fell off, and I (for a long time, nearly 2 yrs) always had my trusty jumper to help me out. I can turn the key all the way (is that what you mean by starter?), but nothing comes on- no lights, no beeps, nada :(
Thanks for all the help guys. My boyfriend is determined to try charging the battery on his charger before we get a new one. And I WISH my car would ding everytime I left a light on. It's just too old.

Question #13:

Headlights 1990 Chevrolet Astro?

The headlights on my friends 1990 Chevrolet Astro came on when we tried to jumper his already weak battery with my weak portable battery. I believe if we could have shut the headlights off somehow while jumpering we would have been able to start him. I went home and retrieved my jumper cables in order to get the job done. Question: is there a way to conrol the headlights from coming on when the ignition key is turned on?

Question #14:

Car battery question for mechanics?

I tried to jump a car with a portable battery jump starter. It is rated at 300 amps, I think. The car would make a repetitive clicking sound the engine would barely turn, then it stopped. After three or four attempts, nothing would happen. I pulled my car up, we placed what appeared to be lightweight cheap cables on each battery. The clicking sound was repetitive but much faster, however the engine would not turn at all. We then go to a repair shop and they let us use a set of heavy duty jumper cables and a boat battery. The car fires up on the first try. I believe this was a battery problem with the car in question, but I was surprised it took a boat battery to turn the engine. Could the problem be only the battery or is their something more to this?

Question #15:

How do i trouble shoot the problem that is causing my car not to start?

* I have a 99' Nissan Sentra, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 1.6 liter engine
*I just replaced my distributer about 4 months prior to any problems. I think the timing was a little off causing it to idle a little low. ( never adjusted that since )
* While driving my car just died out about 3 times in the past 2 months but did start up again in one crank. I thought that might be because i had been running the A/C a lot more than ususal so i didn;t really pay any attention to it.
* One day after running and starting fine all day... i went to leave work and it would not start. I borrowed a portable charger and it took a few tries but it eventually started and ran fine for the next week or two.
* It died once again when i was parked ( car was on ) with the A/C running but started in maybe 2-3 cranks and was fine for about a week.
*Last night i got in my car and tried to start it but you could tell the battery was weak so i jumped it with cables and it started up fine so i drove to my sisters house. When i got there as i was trying to park my lights dimmed and flickered for a second but my car didn't die out. I then turned off the engine. When i was ready to leave it wouldn't start. We then tried kick starting it about 3-4 times and it did not start so i tried jumper cables again and it still didn't start.
My battery is probably about 3 years old so i'll probably need a new battery anyway but I'm worried that i may be dealing with alternator problems.
I'm no mechanic... where does it sound like the PROBLEMS are coming from? Advise please.

Oh and my battery cable connectors keep corroding... I've done the soda, and baking soda & water... but the blue gunk just seems to keep coming back.

... It's all messed up! Ugh!

HELP PLEASE!!

Question #16:

Question #17:

How to install a secondary hard drive?

I have a WD passport essential portable hard drive (SATA). I dismantled it and I want to install it into my PC as an secondary drive for storage. How do I jumper it as slave drive or whatever it is and make my computer or BIOS recognize it but my PC still run normally? If anyone know the answer, please help me. I am desperate.
When I turn on the SATA port in the blue screen setup (I don't what it's called but I pressed F2 when booting), BIOS actually does recognize a secondary hard drive is connected. However, when I exit the blue screen setup, my computer cannot boot, it just says "no booting device" or something similar. Actually, I dropped my portable hard drive. I cracked it open and try to connect it to my PC as an internal hard drive in order to recover the data in there using GetDataBack software. Please help me!!! Thank you very much

Question #18:

Going to the Keys for a week, what do I need to pack for 7 month old?

We are going to the Keys from the 13th to the 21st. I am trying to make sure I am not forgetting anything that might be important for the baby. Here is what I have so far:
- 12 outfits
- 4 bathing suits
- about 100 diapers
- a brand new box of wipes
- his jumper (because that is currently his favorite toy)
- his Bumbo
- some other little toys
- a portable DVD player to attempt to keep him entertained in the car
- a few blankets
- pack n' play w/sheets
- life jacket
- sunscreen/ bugspray

Anything I am forgetting?
I forgot to add that he is breastfeed and eats what ever table foods we eat so there is no need to pack food for him.

Question #19:

1989 Force 125 HP outboard one year later?

Some of you may remember my asking about my purchase of a 1989 Maxum 19.7 foot cuddy with a Force 125 and a 2002 Venture Trailer for $2800.00 last year? I have heard alot of bad things about any Force outboards and just have to say this..... Mine is still running like new at 20 years old now...

I am an aircraft mechanic and winterized it properly and changed the spark plugs, lower unit oil, all fuel lines, battery and impeller over the winter also. Just ran my boat last Sat and it still runs like new. I also spent the past month wet sanding the oxidation off and polishing the out side of it also. Now it looks great and runs awesome. I actually have the cash to buy a new boat but decided to wait a few more years since my '89 is still giong so strong.

I just want to know where all the hate toward Force outboards comes from? I am a mechanic and take care of my things better than average. I have had no problems except for mine being hard to start, that is all. My Force is so hard to start though that I always take my portable battery jumper and an extra battery on all outings. I have trouble shot this hard starting to the neutural safety switch and will replace that shortly.

Thank You

Scott

Question #20:

Sleeping in car / van / truck in cold, below freezing temperature?

So my circumstances are such that i live up north (US) and have to sleep in my car. Where i live, it gets between 0 and -20 F several nights a year and will stay around 0 F most nights during the winter.

I want to know from people who have slept in their car, van or truck when it was this cold how they kept warm. I have a +40F sleeping bag and warm clothes. I don't mind running the heater in the car a few times a night but i would like to avoid drawing attention to myself and don't want to burn all my money in gas. Originally my plan was to run a portable heater in my car hooked to one of those portable car jumper/tire inflater units with an AC outlet. It didn't have the output to run the heater unfortunately.

So what else can i do to stay warm ? Is there any equipment that i can buy to heat the car up without killing my battery ?

Thanks for your help.
