Stuck at HP Invent Boot Screen...?
My laptop wont work. I have an HP Pavilion DV6500. When I boot, my F8 button wont take me to safe mode. I can't go to restore points (F11) ... no others work either. I've heard of the possibility of a boot sector virus, and that might be what has happened since I don't use realtime virus protection since it slows my computer down. Anyway, lets ignore that fact and pretend it could be anything but that. If all else fails, I'll just reformat.Click Here
Thats my exact laptop model, and what it looks like around the CMOS battery. I cannot locate the CMOS jumper or button. I tried taking my CMOS battery out and shorting the pos/neg for a few seconds and putting it back in. No effect. I also tried waiting about 15 minutes. No effect. It just sits there at the boot screen and does nothing. I've tried booting with my AC adapter in and with it out as well. I've tried taking just my Lithium Ion battery out for 24 hours and it started up once, but later that day it screwed up again and wont go past boot. I tried it again (taking battery out) but no luck.
What do you think?
Question #4:
Why won't my Honda Accord AC compressor start?
I recently replaced the AC compressor in my 2003 Honda Accord EX V6. . It worked great for a while, but now the compressor will not start when I turn the AC on. I know the clutch/compressor work becuase I hooked up a jumper wire from the battery, and the compressor engaged and the air got cool.I checked the AC relay and it seems to be fine. The refrigerant pressure is right where it should be. What could be causing the compressor not to switch on?
Question #5:
1995 Acura Integra turns over but won't start?
So i went to start my 95 acura integra this morning and got nothing but a quick click and that's all. I've had the battery die on me a couple of time's due to leaving my amp on but with a quick jump it would start right up. So this time i checked the battery voltage and it was around 9volts so it was a little low try jumping and it seemed that the battery was charging my dash lights would light up like normal while turning the ignition switch but when i turn switch completely it will turn over not start and the battery would go dead again even while i have the jumper cables connected. Last summer i changed the starter and put a optima yellow top battery in the but not sure whats going on with it now.any ideas?Question #6:
What do I do with my PC with this problem?
I have the messages "cmos battery low" and "cmos memory size wrong" on boot up. And when I turn the PC off it boots back up on its own. All symptoms of a dying battery so I changed the battery but the exact same happens with the new battery. So I cleared the cmos using the jumpers but this hasn't made a difference either? Does anyone else have any ideas on what the problem could be? I'm thinking a dodgy connection on the mobo somewhere but not sure how to troubleshoot this.Question #7:

Ford Explorer Sport Trac (2004) Question?
When trying to turn on the vehicle it did not start and none of the lights would turn on. I used jumper cables to get it to start but the fuel gauge read empty even though I knew it was not. Regardless, I put in gas and it was less than $15 so I know it wasn't empty. After dispensing the gas the fuel gauge read Full. Also, before I put in more gas, when I stepped on the gas pedal all the way down (while in park) it would not accelerate. It would maintain only a constant sound. After dispensing the additional gas though, the accelerator was fine. Could this be an issue with the battery (which is only 1 year old) or the gas tank? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.Question #10:
Cant install Windows onto RM Machine?
I have an RM desktop computer - the computer that was until recently in most schools. I want to install Windows XP because I cant get onto this since it must be connected to the school network to log in. When I put the installation disk in nothing happened so I tried to get onto the bios settings. There is a password. I found out the password but for some reason it will not work on this computer even though it works on every other computer in that school. I tried switching round the jumper and tried keeping the cmos battery out for 20 minutes but still no joy. I also need a password to use floppy boot. Can someone please help me?Question #11:

Why should a jumper cable for car batteries be connected to the ground screw instead of the negative terminal?
Question #13:
Why should the negative jumper cable be connected to the ground screw of a car?
I have always thought that in order to use jumper cables to start a dead battery for a car, one simply connects the positive terminals of the batteries together, and likewise with the negative terminals. I myself have witnessed this being done. However, my car's user manual says that inside the car with the dead battery, the negative cable should not be connected to the negative battery terminal, but instead should be connected to the ground screw. Is there a reason for this?Question #14:
Can you jump start a hybrid car with a non-hybrid car?

I left my lights on when I went to the store and now my car is fried?
I went to the store and when I came back out to my car the battery was dead. A guy stopped and jumped my car, but he hooked the jumper cables up backwards and it melted all kinds of stuff. I had a shop look at it and they told me that I need a new wiring harness and a computer and my sensors might be bad too. They told me that it would be at least $2,000 to fix. What should I do? I have nothing to drive right now!

Question #16:
1995 Chevy Silverado wont start?
95 5.7 with an automatic transmission. Cranks but wont start. Replaced the fuel relay. Battery was weak so we hooked up the jumper cables and it was cranking healthy but wont turn over. I am suspecting the alternator to be weak but I am not sure if that would cause the truck not to turn over. I also sprayed starter fluid into the throttle body and it doesnt make the difference so I am kind of eliminating the fuel issue. I am planning on replacing the battery, alternator, fuel filter, spark plugs/wires and the distributor. Would a bad alternator lead to a failed start. Also the truck has ran out of gas the other day but there is about 3-4 gallons in it right now. Any help or suggestions?Question #17:
My Acer aspire 5100 laptop wont boot?
Hi, I have an acer aspire 5100, it wont boot, i just get a black screen, I have tried removing battery and ac adaptor and holding the power button to reset and this didn't work, i have also tried changing the ram modules around and tried them one at a time too and this didn't work, i have also tried to short the jumpers also with no joy.Occasionally the laptop will boot and the acer screen loads, i tried pressing f2 to enter setup but the KEYBOARD doesn't seem to be responding, after the acer screen loads i get the message "error 0280 previous boot incomplete default configuration used" with also some more info about the laptop, it gives the options to press either f1 or f2 but like i say the keyboard will not respond to any key i press.
On other occasions the laptop will boot the acer screen then i get the message "bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+del to restart" but again i cant restart by pressing the keys.
I am lost here, i have tried booting from an original xp disc and also from a usb stick but can not get it to autorun.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do please, i really need this laptop to work but don't have cash to get it repaired, i will try anything to get it going.
Please help, thanks in advance.

Question #19:
Why won't our International Farmall M tractor start?
The people that owned the tractor before us had converted it to a 12 volt system with an alternator. We have been trying to get it started after it sat for a few months. It usually started after we put jumper cables on it and hit the switch, but now we can't get anything to happen. We put a new push button type switch on it, cleaned all of the electrical connections, put a new starter on it and a new cable going from the switch to the starter. Someone had relocated the starter switch from down by the shifter to up higher on the side. It has a pull switch that someone put in that you pull out to send juice to the push switch to start it. We had that checked and it is okay. It has 2 wires that come from the alternator that hook up to this switch and another wire that connects the pull switch to the starter switch that is a hot wire. The positive battery cable goes up on one side of the push starter switch and the other side has the cable that goes down to the starter. On the starter switch on the hot side of it there is also a wire that runs to the light switch so the lights work, and the lights do work and are nice and bright. I have tried different combinations with the wires to try to get the tractor to at least turn over, but I have had no luck. Tomorrow we are going to get the battery tested to see if it is any good, hopefully that is the problem, but the battery is only 2 years old. Any suggestions?Question #20:
