Question: 30 weeks PG, overheating at night, baby inactive all day?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Well definitely bring up the odd movement schedule to your doctor. I think it should be fine because all babies have different sleep and awake patterns. Lucky you, shes active at night lol good luck.

Answer #2:

As long as the baby does move and you are not going like an entire day w/ no movement, its probably fine. My first baby hardly ever moved. My AC keeps breaking as well and I'm very annoyed w/ the landlords, its been 105 where we live and I'm always hot as well. Try to stay hydrated, only one more month and a half of summer left! good luck

Answer #3:

as long as you don't go a few days without feeling the baby, you're fine. Once or twice a day is all I felt my son during the second trimester. You'll start feeling it more often.

My advice would be drink lots of water, which you're already doing, and when you do eat... eat healthy :)

Answer #4:

Congrats on your pregnancy! I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering in this awful heat wave. It sounds like you are doing everything you can to stay cool and doing a great job of caring for yourself and your child during this transition period.

I want to encourage you to contact your doctor if at any time you are concerned about a lack of movement from your child. The nurse can discuss with you over the phone how to count movements and record the child's activity. If you are concerned, do not wait two weeks to talk with your physician.

Keep up the good work staying hydrated and taking your vitamins. It won't be long and you will be holding your precious bundle of joy!

I'm sorry I didn't read your entire question but I do have some advice about overheating.....very early in my pregnancy I would overheat if my house was anything over 70 degrees and would wake up in the middle fo the night drenched in sweat so I found a few tricks to keep myself cool...Before going to bed take a cold shower/bath to get your body temp down.....also, put your sheets in the freezer for like 20 mins...weird I know but TRUST me, there is nothing like sleeping with a cool sheet when you're hot, it really cools you down...also if you have a fan and a spray bottle you can lay in front of the fan and spray your body with cold water it is soo chilling!!! I was also not very well off as a kid and my sister and I slept upstairs where there was NO ac and it would be a good 80 degrees during the summer so this is how we used to go to sleep.....keep some extra sheets in the freezer when you go to sleep so if you wake up hot again you can switch out the sheets...good luck hun :)....and trust me TRY IT!!!!!
