Question: What is the down side of using a portable jump starter to charge a 12V battery?

no down side...portable and smaller means easier to use and quicker...you can also store in the trunk and have on hand whenever you need it...
I have one in my wifes trunk just for that purpose.

no down side except if you carried it in case of emergency, you would have to have it charged or be near an outlet to charge it before it could jump start the car. good investment tho. it doesn't harm your battery in any way. it will come in handy a lot. i would have a set of jumper cables handy just in case it didn't work.** Powered by Yahoo Answers
